Coldsore

I currently have a cold sore. I usually get one if I’ve been run down and it’s usually over Christmas typical. I’m so worried about passing onto my baby. The midwife told me to go to the GP as soon as I got one but obviously they’re closed. I don’t know what to do. I have a patch on it, I keep antibacing and washing my hands, I’m trying not to get close to my baby but I don’t see how I can’t. I’m so so worried she will get one. Has anyone got any advice?

I've had tingles throughout postpartum and use this daily to stop breakouts. Its amazing and I don't go anywhere without it....

Just keep doing what you're doing! I had one when my baby was about 8 weeks and I just had to ensure I didn't kiss my baby (so hard when I just wanted to gobble him up!) I kept applying cold sore cream and patches, and washing my hands, and my little one was absolutely fine! I still got close to my baby but just ensured my lips didn't touch his skin 👍🏻😊

I ended up getting one the night my daughter was born as I was so run down from labour and lack of sleep. The midwife on the delivery ward told me to keep it covered with a cold sore patch and pop some cold sore cream on the rest of my lips and just make sure to wash my hands and not touch my face. She never caught it off me luckily x
