Am i being petty?
So me my partner and our daughter went to grandparents for christmas dinner yesterday. He asked if he could drink and i said yeah but dont take it too far as hes been drinking the past 2 days and hasn’t helped out with the baby at all. It gets to abit later on and he’s tipsy so i told him not to have any more as i dont want him to be drunk. He still carried on drinking and by the time i was getting ready to go home with our daughter he was drunk. I told him he can sleep there as i’m not having him come home with me just to have to look after him aswell as the baby. He is now trying to pretend like nothing happened but because im still in a mood about it hes saying im being pathetic and it’s christmas so he wanted to have a good time. My point to him was that i didnt mind him having a drink but he got to the point where he couldn’t do anything he was that drunk and i tried telling him i wanted it to be a good day as its our daughter’s first christmas and its about being with family not getting drunk. Am i in the wrong?

Not wrong at all, he sounds pretty selfish in that instance to be honest. Stick to your guns with this one.
Your not in the wrong! It’s Christmas for all of you not just him and you asked him not to over do it. I’d do the same if it was me. Next year if you drink make sure you enjoy yourself and let him take over.

Hand him the baby tomorrow when he’s sobered up and tell him now it’s your turn to have a “good time”, see how he likes it!
The fact that he thinks “having a good time” translates into being sloppy drunk off his ass, is worrisome alone.
Why are men so selfish. I’ve seen so many posts like this today and it’s so sad. Would have been nice for you to be able to let your hair down and have a drink yourself so for you to be fine with him enjoying a beverage on Christmas Day and then just taking it too far takes the piss 🥵
Someone should be able to control himself like an adult. 🤷🏼♀️ getting sloppy drunk with your family and baby isn’t having a good time on Christmas, for anyone involved
