Unpopular opinion: people stress unnecessarily at Christmas
I see it so often; people just stressing so much at Christmas. It should be a stress free time if anything.
People get into debt buying stuff they can't afford.
People spend time with family they can't stand.
It can be so simple.
I only bought presents for my 2yo. Nothing for my partner, mum or bro & they weren't fussed about it. I'll treat them another time. I didn't get anything either & I'm fine with that.
My LG had the best time (did fake footprints in the snow leading the the šof santa & the reindeers during the night for her to see Xmas morning), we ate, laughed & danced.
It really can be a stress free time people! š

It is stressful but thatās part of the fun. I love all the chaos. Wait until your kids start school! In the uk itās Xmas jumper day, Xmas party day, nativity, Xmas dinner day, trip to the cinemaā¦itās full on. Then thereās the wrapping and the planning. Ordering the turkey. Braving the supermarket and wanting to kill someone the process usually my oh! Putting the presents out at 4.30am when everyone is asleep. Cooking. Then I had a cold and worked Xmas day from 7-10pm. Still worth it. I havnt even seen my family yet! My mum had an ambulance round Xmas day as had a fall. Will be seeing her on the 2nd Jan.
Right lol just take the kids to 5 below and let them go crazy tbh šš„“ the rest of my family understood. Plus I canāt stand half of them anyway, or even know them, half are basically strangers š¤·š»āāļølol. We literally stayed home this Christmas and it was heavenly. Merry belated Christmas š
I think it depends on your vision of how you want Christmas to be. My goal for next year is to get a major head start on Christmas to minimize the stress. My goals become higher as the kids get older and the more we have. Besides the gifts, we want them to have a memorable childhood. We also donāt spend a ton on gifts.
