Work stress and anxiety

I’m absolutely dreading going back to work next week. Since I’ve told them I’m pregnant, they have ramped up the workload and then have been reprimanding me for not keeping on top of it 😢 I want to sign of sick but the money is literally unsurvivable- £118 a week. So since you’ve told them your pregnant they’ve given you more work? What type of work do you do? That doesn’t sound right at all. What a bunch of pricks

This sounds horrible. I’m so sorry you are going through it. Do you think you can talk to your manager about feeling overwhelmed and stressed with the increased workload? If there is a specific solution or change you can suggest that might help too. Keep in mind that you are not having the conversation to fight back but to protect your baby and make sure your colleagues at work have realistic expectations of what you can do during your pregnancy. Which is supposed to be a magical time for us, right? Not just a stressful one🙂 Good luck 🍀 you got this, mama 🫶

My manager is the one setting the workload. I flagged it to HR and also wrote an email detailing the workload so there was a record. I’ve spoken with acas who have suggested raising a grievance but this doesn’t reduce the stress/ workload. It’s a very toxic environment so regardless of the outcome, I still don’t want to be there 😭 I’m a project manager.
