Three year age gap - is a double buggy worth it?

My son will be be turning 3 in April when we welcome our second little boy. For anyone else with a similar age gap. Is a second buggy worthwhile or are there any other ideas you can share?

We didn't even bother with one for our 2yo (at the time). I was looking into a buggy board, but again didn't get it, he prefers walking. If he was to go in the stroller (which he has on occasion) I just wear my daughter.

I went against it because they are huge and I often need to get the bus or go into small shops where I live. I got a buggy board instead, I hope it works out! My 3 year old likes to run off so I’m nervous going out without being able to strap her into something.

My sons have a 3 year age gap as well. We have a foldable/ collapsible wagon in the trunk of our truck. It’s helped TREMENDOUSLY when we go out to parks, or zoos, anywhere where we have to walk a lot especially during the summer because idk about you, but I don’t want to carry my heavy 3 year old when he takes a nap in the middle of the amusement park lol. My fiance left our wagon when we went to Hershey park this past summer after I told him that the boys would get tired and he learned his lesson pretty quickly. It’s helped us. I would just consider your options with something more compact

It depends what you do. I would personally not. I would
Pram the eldest for a few more years and baby carry the baby, baby carrying is much nicer personally (but I think that’s a preference), it means you can walk more places too (or where I live it does) double pram really limits you to only forest roads, or not being able to get in some forests cos gate things not wide enough. Or going into shops can be a nightmare! However a double
Pram is handy too, I got a double pram when I was pregnant and my son was 2 maybe 🤔 maybe before they actually. They sadly I miscarried and I got pregnant again…. Then i had twins 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 so I have the Thule chariot, terrible for anywhere that’s not a forest, and then mountain buggy amazing for doctors or shops coz it fits in single door frames, and it fully lays back so they can sleep, Thule need a new born hammock first though. I had a pram with my first child, but never really used it unless at hospital or something. Just always baby carried then backpac

There’s 2 years and 3 months between my two and I only ever used the buggy board or he used his bike for short distances

I would get a wagon for longer days (amusement parks, zoo, etc.). Your 3 year old will walk everywhere else just fine. You can always baby wear the baby and put him in the stroller for a bit if needed.

We went into mamas and papas to buy a double buggy for our two and the shop assistant advised us against it. Said we would be wasting out money as the older child will outgrow it to quick. They suggested a buggy board instead which we looked at but I cant quite figure out if we would have enough space to walk behind it with our pram. If my husband is with me, we have a pram each and if im on my own, short journeys my son will walk holding the pram, if its a longer journey my son goes in the Pram and I will wear my daughter in the carrier

I would get a buggy board instead of a double pram. Theres so many small shops that they won't fit in! And if the oldest wants to walk, they can!x

My son refuses to walk so I am wondering the same too. My son will also be 3yo when baby arrives.

I didn’t bother we just got my toddler a buggy board with a seat on it for when we are out for a little while so he has somewhere to rest his legs, other then that he walks or sits on my partners shoulders. My son turned 3 2 and 1/2 weeks after baby was born
