Tummy Time Anxiety

My baby is 14 weeks old and doesn't do great at floor tummy time. She doesn't cry but she just lays there and licks her boppy pillow. She does keep her head up when carried and lifts on chest tummy time. Is the floor tummy time something to be concerned about? There's so much pressure with the tummy time milestones. Also, I have soooo much anxiety about her hurting herself during floor tummy time by rolling her the wrong way or from her being in the wrong position, any tips and tricks?

I had to get a water tummy time mat for my kids when they were little might do it again with this one when she’s ready I’m not due until may

Tummy time is counted as when laying on your chest 😊

However try do as much floor time as u can, with toys & sensory objects! Eventually she’ll learn to roll over to grab what’s in reach.

Theres no correct way to do it, even if it’s for a few minutes a time!

My kid quite literally never did floor tummy time until he was like 5 months old. He hated it. Would do it laying on our chests, but the floor was a no go. He's now 13 months old and meeting milestones early.

there is so much pressure with it i totally understand that, ellie is 4 months and still doesn’t like tummy time after a few minutes her legs are strong enough to crawl but her arms just arnt there yet and she gets frustrated when she rolls ontop of them also tries to just fit the floor in her mouth but her head control is amazing the doctors said she is totally on track some babies just like it less than others till they can fully move by themselves

That sounds exactly like our baby, she gets her legs in the right position to crawl but then can't seem to get her arms to support fully, then she just tries to eat whatever is closest to her mouth. It's great to hear that the pediatrician said that things are still on track, maybe my LO just needs a little more time

She’s only 3 1/2 months old give her grace. A tummy time mat is great for the floor I did it with my kids and only a few minutes. By 6 months they were more active. Don’t over think it mom. You got this!

I came back to say you were all right! She's 5.5 months now and tummy time is now her favorite thing, it's all she wants to do! We really do get too much pressure about milestones when babies develop at their own pace
