16 weeks midwife appointment - worried

Hi ladies I keep seeming a lot of posts about the 16 week appointment and I can’t get mine of my chest.
It was a stand in midwife and she was honestly useless !
She didn’t do Doppler purely because it’s twins and she didn’t feel comfortable with twins. She was going to , she got it out told me to get on bed etc then saw in my notes that I’m having twins and said never mind because she didn’t feel comfortable doing twins.
She didn’t do carbon monoxide test because she couldn’t find the straws.
She took my blood pressure 3 times ! The first two came back to high so she ‘wanted to get a lower one’ , surly if it was to high twice it’s actually high?
My pulse was 105-110 the first two times then 118 the 3rd time. Surely that’s also too high?
Dipped my wee and it didn’t show anything so she binned it even though it’s known that I have a history of UTIs that only show with lab testing.
I told her I had dizziness , leg swelling , flashing lights / floaters continuous sickness , extreme tiredness to the point I cannot do normal daily activities and she DID NOT care!
She took my blood to test babies blood types because I’m A- but that seems to be the only thing she did right ?

I had my 16 week appointment and never did the Doppler she said they do it at the next appointment!

I reckon you need to get a second opinion, maybe call the maternity unit and voice your concerns they might be able to get another midwife to check on you!
A lot of it doesn’t seem right xxx

It depends on hospital policies too, we don’t listen in to twins with Doppler at any stage anymore. We also don’t do routine co2 monitoring at every appointment unless you’re a smoker. Usually you will need 3 high blood pressure readings to be sent to triage anyway so if it was then normal it’s unlikely to be anything at that point as it didn’t need medication to normalise. Your pulse was in the higher side was it an early morning appointment and you hadn’t drunk loads or stressed or rushed to the appointment possibly? Sorry you had a bad experience but if you are worried with all of those things you probably should be contacting your maternity triage not waiting til your midwife appointment as there are very few tests they can do there and no doctors to review. Unfortunately for a lot of woman pregnancy is hard and symptoms are shitty x

Hospital to see if they can bring it forward so you can discuss all of these issues. I appreciate it’s hard at the beginning because most GPs won’t do anything to do with pregnant women anymore and the midwife’s can’t do anything either but I wouldn’t say because we don’t care just because we can’t but I can understand why it might feel that way x

I didn’t get a urine test, Doppler, or co2 at my 16 week 😂 my blood pressure was also high the first time so she tried again ten mins later, I get nervous at appointments so my heart rate and BP are always dramatic and come down. I think it is a pretty laid back appointment where they don’t have to do anything, where as from 25/28 weeks they check everything every time and then I’d be worried!! The first pregnancy I was really concerned and frustrated about the Doppler at 16 weeks too cos of everything I was seeing on here so it is easy to compare x
