I had HELLP syndrome with my first pregnancy and had to have an emergency c section under general anaesthetic and i was abit shocked and traumatised with that being my first experience of pregnancy I am scared to fall pregnant again but I know I want another in a couple of years. Is it common to get it with every pregnancy after ?

I have just had my second child after severe pre-eclampsia with my first. My first was born at 27 weeks after diagnosis at 24 weeks. My second is now 4 days old, born at 36 weeks and within 24 hours of diagnosis, although I believe my symptoms began again about 32 weeks. I was monitored more closely this time and took aspirin as a precaution. I wouldn’t change any of the decisions I made even though my pregnancy was high risk and I was anxious, but I’m glad we’re done and sticking with only two.

I had severe hellp and preeclampsia with my first and had emergency section struggled to get my bp down afterwards for ages too, got preeclampsia with my second but later on and not so severe so planned section at 38 weeks … ttc number 3 and here’s hoping I don’t get it again!
