Potty training

Hi everyone 👋

My little girl just turned 14 months this month, and I am just wondering when should I start potty training with her. I’m not in a rush but also I don’t want to make it more difficult for her later.

We have just trained my daughter before Christmas. She was 26 months and could understand instructions etc. She was probably ready 2/3 months earlier but we needed time off work to do it.
The advice recently changed to start earlier, between 18 months and 2.5 years.
Best way we found was to have her at home and bare from the waist down. After 2/3 days it clicked and the accidents dropped off.
She has the occasional accident when distracted (especially at nursery) but has done amazing.

You can start when ever you feel they are ready or even when you are, but it is also really good to at least get them use to sitting on the potty so that when they are ready it’s an easier transition. Ive had our potty accessible to my daughter since about 6 month just to get her use to sitting on it and occasionally have sat her on it when changing her which has resulted in her even doing a few wees on it before 1 (followed by a lot of positive praise 😊). She is 15 months now and isn’t ready to fully potty train but I know that when she is, she will be comfortable to sit on it which really helps the whole process.
