I was always under impression you can but it cant be piping hot,I use a wheat bag so I have more control over the heat x

You can but you shouldn't apply it to your tummy, to the side or your back only!

hot water bottles are generally safe and effective for relieving pregnancy aches like back pain, but never place them directly on your bump or use excessively hot water, as core body overheating is a risk, especially early on. Wrap the bottle in a towel, use warm (not scalding) water, and apply to sore areas like the back, hips, or sides to soothe muscles and ligaments, but avoid the abdomen to prevent raising your core temperature too much.
Safe usage guidelines
Target pain, not the bump: Apply to lower back, hips, or sore muscles, not directly on the belly.
Wrap it: Always wrap the bottle in a towel to prevent burns to your skin.
Check the temperature: Use warm, not scalding, water to avoid raising your core body temperature too high.
Limit time: Apply for 10-20 minutes at a time.
Listen to your body: If you feel dizzy or nauseous, remove the heat source.

yes but not directly to your bump
Thankyou everyone I have developed back ache at 13 weeks pregnant

Yes! It was a great relief on my hips and back. Just don’t but it on Bump x

I used one throughout my pregnancy as I suffered with a bad back x

You can but it’s advisable not to be too hot as it can be dangerous for the baby.

I've used on my sides / back but have read and been told about not applying directly to stomach xx

I did the switch to heating pad after my hot water bottle popped and badly burnt my inner thighs resulting to a trip to a&e. If you're gonna use hot water bottle then just make sure it is in date and not expired. Google will tell you how to check as its all to do with some symbols on the bottle.
Thankyou everyone
