Did pitocin help speed your labor?

I had relatively fast labor, 6 hours, and I’m wondering if the pitocin helped speed things along. I didn’t get a epidural and I’m wondering if that also affected the duration.

I got pitocin because my water broke then 24 hours later I still wasn’t dilating like at all. I had already been in labor for almost 48 hours at that point. I went from 3cm to 10cm in like 3 hours

I didn't have it but my mom did with me and I still took 32 hours to come

I was in labor for 29 hours and it almost killed my daughter I had to threaten to sue for the doctors to turn it down they had it on the max dose and she couldn’t handle it

I was in Labor for 63hrs and I was on Pitocin for 57hrs and I got the epidural after 32hrs into labor

I feel like it depends on the person

I got Pitocin at 6 am and had my daughter at 11 am. My son was from 1 pm to 9 pm but they slowly did him.

I think the whole point of pitocen is to speed the labour no?

I was put on pitocin because I stopped progressing after being induced with cytotec. It definitely sped things up for me

Ok but how did you get pitocin and not need an epidural? That’s amazing 🤩

I labored naturally and was relatively quick. I was 6cm dilated and in active labor when I got to the hospital, almost 3 hours later and baby was born!

I got pitocin with my first and I didn’t get the epidural either. It was an overnight process for me. I went in at 5pm and delivered 8am next day.

My second? It was a fast labor. No induction. No Pap smear (got one with my first). I went in about 5am and delivered 8am.

I got to 6cm and then ate a huge curry and my labour stopped. Was very overdue so they burst my waters, I went back to 2cm. Started the drip and he was born 2.5 hours later.

Yes it sped things up for me- I had my waters broken around 8am nothing really happened so at 1 I went on the drip contractions soon came quick and fast and she was born just after 4pm

Didn't speed anything up for me

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Reduced Movements

Has anyone else gone in for monitoring for reduced movements and as soon as you arrive at triage the baby starts moving and the CTG is normal? It makes me feel like I am over reacting.

2nd pregnancy after c section

I’m not planning on getting pregnant anytime soon but in the future possibly. I just wanted to know how is pregnancy after c section like my fear is having to go through another emergency operation or even putting strain on my incision during pregnancy

Baby Movements

Hello, I’m a FTM currently 18W5D pregnant. I’ve been getting this tugging feeling in my stomach after I eat, it’s uncomfortable but not painful. I don’t know whether that’s the baby moving or round ligaments pain.

I’ve also been getting round ligament pain which is either a sharp stabbing pain or a stretching sensation. These happens whether or not I’ve eaten while the tugging feeling is only after I’ve eaten.

So, could the tugging feeling be the baby or something else.

Labour

Think im a bit confused really, i went into traige as was having contractions eveey 3-5mins. Since being here im now having them every 2-3mins which was confirmed with the machine and i think the toco was 90-100 and they feel painful and my lower back is in loads of pain but apparently im only just over 2cm dilated maybe, she has said i can stay here for a bit longer to see if things progress as had a previous quick birth as well but i dont understand why the pains are coming this quick if im only 2cm dilated and feel a bit deflated from it also.

I had a sweep this morning also.
