each tooth = more pain?

so everyone told me that the first two teeth were the worst… yeah, they weren’t fun… but then the second two came around. then numbers 5 and 6 are here… somehow my little one seems to be in more and more pain with each pair she gets… has anyone else encountered this? any tips?

for context: she is now 11 months. we can’t give her motrin or tylenol or anything else orally/topically on her gums because of some health issues she has. I freeze breastmilk/purees in pops and give her teethers up the wazoo, but she will only tolerate them for a few minutes at a time before throwing them.

she wakes every sleep cycle, immediately letting out this horrible painful cry. only some times can she resettle herself. the rest of the night/naps, i’m co-sleeping, holding, nursing or bouncing her around the room. this gets progressively worse over the course of a MONTH. then she pops one tooth and it takes another week for another to pop through. finally once both have cut, we get about a week or two of peace before the process begins again

if you give her solids try giving her celery or green onions to chew on, it should help with the pain
