I was wondering if anyone had any luck in receiving any sort of help with money. I feel living off just one wage is impossible, we have 2 children and as people know the maternity pay is ridiculous. Unfortunately I have been made redundant from my job while my boy was 6 weeks old and didn’t expect to have to find a job only 2 months postpartum. So I was wondering if anyone receives and help at all and how they managed to do it as soon enough my maternity allowance will stop. :(

You can apply but it depends on total income to what you’ll get and whether you have savings x
I can as a single mom on maternity leave, but once I'm back working I wont be entitled anymore (on less that £40k a year)
Before I went back to work with my husband working full-time I was entitled to some but not load when my maternity pay stopped cuz I didn't go back until my boy was 11 months old
I would make a claim, me and my husband have 2 (almost 4 and 6 months) and we get help, granted its really not much but it's better than nothing
I know different ranks and if your in NI you get different wages but NI pay isn't much more than standard wage. We only get around £70 a month not including our child benefit but it's better than nothing, I'd also check to see if your entitled to the sure start grant xx
Apply for universal credit and then apply for it, make sure you apply for help with housing costs ect as well xx
