My nearly 5month old was up the majority of the night last night scratching his tummy- it’s red raw.
We’ve been to the doctors multiple times and have been prescribed many different creams- we are currently using Epimax.
As always, the creams seem to work amazingly for the first few weeks and then stop.
It’s breaking my heart to see him in so much pain and discomfort.
The doctor prescribed Prition too.
What could be triggering it?!
Our GP has referred list to see a dermatologist (waiting for an appointment).
Any suggestions welcome!

Not a doctor - but are you having dairy? What washing detergent are you using?
He’s formula fed- Cow and Gate.
We’ve asked two different doctors whether we should change his milk and they’ve both said no.
I’m beginning to consider it now.
We’re using Fairy non-bio.

My son has bad eczema too! It’s heartbreaking. We only use Asda own brand non bio tablets (no laundry conditioner or anything else)
We use only oilatum in the bath and wash his scalp with child’s farm oat shampoo. Cream wise we were prescribed betnovate which we use once every other day. Moisturiser wise we use e45 twice a day.
I hope any of that helps. I’ve really found his skin to be the clearest it’s ever been. Xx

Looks like an allergic reaction to me…
Try changing detergent to a baby one and see if changing/ not applying any creams help…

I second the dairy comment- my LO came up with nasty eczema all over his neck, to the point it was cracked and bleeding. After a course of steroid cream that cleared it and then it came back, I demanded dairy free formula from the GP to trial. 2.5 weeks later and it’s pretty much cleared up!
I’m going to try reintroducing dairy in a week but pretty sure that’s the root cause. There could be an underlying allergy triggering your LO’s?
I’ve also switched from Fairy non-bio to Ecover Zero, and also slather him with E45 at every nappy change and sudocrem when it’s really raw, which I think also helps x

Also not sure if you’re using scratch sleeves but they really help the scratching at night, we use Leo & Gabe ones which are fairly loose and stretchy. I hope you find a solution fast xx
