Aldi Formula

Has anyone tried Aldi’s own Mamia formula? What are your thoughts?
Formula is so expensive so wondering if this cheaper alternative is any good

It strangely smells like play dough in my option. Only got it because we can’t find cow and gate anywhere at the moment I’m not sure if she’s liking it or not she’s drinking it but it’s turned her poos in to liquid

We are using it and have no problems. When we first switched we had to slowly change by introducing one bottle as sometimes they can be sick going fully over straight away

My son had aptamil and changed to this and he was not impressed at all so that change only lasted less than a week and we went back to aptamil😂

We have used this since birth and baby has had no issues gaining weight etc we tried others like cow and gate but she preferred Aldi so went back to this. There is no harm in trying baby to see how they get on☺️

My little one loves it changed him to it after a week of having him home and never looked back

Nutritionally, all formula in the UK has to be the same. So there isn’t one that is better for babies than any other. It’s just a matter of preference.

If I were to formula feed, I’d use it as it’s the best value for money and readily available in many shops (Aldis are everywhere).

Thank you everyone for your replies. Think I’m going to slowly introduce it by mixing it with her cow & gate x

Yes we used it with both my 2 straight from birth. It had all the nutrients needed and was cheaper! It's worth trying to see if your baby likes it! ☺️

I switched my 2nd ove rot this to give her a try as cow & gate just seemed to block them up. She took to it and never looked back. Were now fully off it and on cows milk as shes over 1.

Used it for about a month. The palm oil causes something called calcium soapification in the stomach( proteins bind together with milk proteins) and caused our LO to have very bad constipation (3 days no poop consistently). Moved over to Kendamil and have had 0 issues, poops at least once a day, no pain, reduced spit up.

This is the second baby I’ve had on Aldi formula - both 97th centile boys and we’ve loved it! It’s quite literally half the price of other brands, no-brainer!

Should I be concerned or am I overthinking?

My little boy is 15 months old, he’s recently taken his first steps and he says mamma and dadda and baba (he has said these for months) we’ve filled out the paperwork for his 12-14 month review and it looks like he isn’t meeting many of his milestones.

He doesn’t copy actions, point, clap etc. He doesn’t react when being spoken to, or to his name. He actively avoids eye contact.

He was so unresponsive to sound that we just had his hearing tested concerned he was deaf. They found that he could hear so he is just choosing not to react to any noises or sounds.

Has anyone else had similar experiences with their little ones? Should I be raising this with the health visitor and ask to be assessed for neurodivergent issue or a social communication problem like autism?

I don’t want to just slap a label on him, but I do feel that there are real concerns. All opinions welcome!!

Routines?

When did you start to introduce your baby’s routine? Do they just have a night routine or full day routine? Wondering when I should start this e.g naps at the same time everyday.

Any routines you have that work for you, please let me know them with timestamps. my baby is 6 weeks and just wondering when we should start them?

Does anyone else’s baby spit up breastmilk but not formula?

I’m seriously considering seeing a lactation consultant because I don’t understand why he can’t hold down breastmilk but can formula. I use soy formula since I’ve used it with my daughter and I’m thinking it might be due to not getting milk coming in for a few days so I had no choice but to give him formula, but now even if I take breaks in between feeding him breastmilk to burp or try to mix breastmilk and formula, he spits it up sooo much. I’m ready to just give him just formula because I’m worried about him not eating enough

Bed time tips for 8 week old

So I literally cannot get my 8 week down to sleep before 11:30pm every night no matter how early we start our routine. We tend to do bath every second night but every night consists of feed, up to bed, into pjs, book, feed to sleep. We could start this routine at 7 and it would still be the case of not selling til 11:30.

She doesn’t nap during the day well, we get a 30 minute in the morning, and a 1 hour in the afternoon only if I’m out the house. She’s never distressed when she’s awake all that time, quite the thing being nosey and having cuddles. She’s EBF and her feeds all through the day are LONG and last from 30-45 mins each feed.

Any tips/advice recommended on how to get to bed earlier or just how to get her to sleep in general.
