Yoto 3rd gen or mini

Which one would work best for my 14mo nearly 15mo? We travel quite a bit as well.

It's quite early for either, tbh! My kids only really start enjoying the Yoto at 3+

You can play the cards from your phone so for travel I'd just connect that to the car speakers.

We travel a lot too and own both.

I prefer the mini for my eldest but the 3rd gen is fantastic too. She started using it at 14/15m too for flying and she still uses the Yoto every day.

Tbh thought the battery on the mini isn’t very good and after 2 years of use it won’t last a day. They are also due an updated generation one later this year so maybe hold off on buying a mini just yet.

3rd gen is great at this age because it's big enough for them to be able to handle and put the cards in. My daughter had one for Christmas (she's 16 months yesterday). The case you can get for them has a handle that she uses and she can put the cards in and loves it.

My step son has the mini for mealtimes at school (SEND) and it's a bit more fiddly for tiny hands. Perfect for like 3 plus when they have more dexterity.

Both my kids have minis, my youngest has had one since 11ish months and is obsessed. Its easy for them to navigate and use and is portable. Only down side is that theyll sometimes set it down randomly and it like a scavenger hunt to find it.
