Hi all, I'm going to the Caribbean when my little girl will be just turning 5 months. I know we can't use sun cream under 6 months and we will be keeping her in the shade, under UV protective tent etc but my brother is getting married on one of the days where I won't have control over the shade as much, she is also a flower girl. When we did a first aid course the first aider said the risk of burning will probably outweigh the risk of using sun cream for that one time. can anyone recommend any baby sun cream that might be best?

Hi! I would recommend a mineral sunscreen! If it’s mineral, the body doesnt absorb it but rather creates a layer over the baby’s skin… then you need to make sure to wash it off them! I usually buy mine in the chemist in Spain but you should be able to find one online. But, again, if you can’t find one, any sunscreen is better than none at all! X
(Edit: just found this one on Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/Fotoprotector-Pediatrics-Isdin-Fusion-Mineral/dp/B01E0PUYGK/ref=asc_df_B01E0PUYGK?mcid=9c895b6da05530d8b8dcf11d9da35fef&tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=697192275042&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=5896814997774643126&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9045138&hvtargid=pla-436928919839&psc=1&hvocijid=5896814997774643126-B01E0PUYGK-&hvexpln=0&gad_source=1)

I looked through a lot of sunscreens before and checked EWG ratings (you can also use Yuka app to scan the bar code to see if it’s good or not). The best option I found was Babo botanical Baby (it’s mineral sunscreen and rated at the top by EWG. It’s a bit pricey in the UK but you can get it on Amazon

I use mineral creams on my son, we used AmaZinc cream and Badger

Green People & Badger are good clean brands

I’ve always put Sun cream on mine if we are out in the Sun and it’s avoidable. As you say sunburn is far worse than putting Sun cream on.
