Agreed they don’t need one

I have the Amazon fire tablet for kids ! You can download the books and educational games for them

Screens already aren’t great (yes I do use them so no shame), but screens up close to their face are even worse for them. Wait a while longer. Technology addiction is a pain and if they don’t have it, you don’t have to fight it. Plus it is bad for their attention spans.

I wouldn't. I say this in good faith. Educational apps are not what they are made out to be. They don't teach your child study habits or resilience or the gratification of solving a problem just for the sake of solving it. They learn to become dependent on the flashy colours and bright trophies when they get a right answer - and when faced with that same problem in the real world, actually find it MORE frustrating because they don't get the reward.
Educational apps also "dumb down" answers when the child is struggling. Instead of learning to push through it and persevere, the app reframes the question to make it easier. The app's goal isn't learning - it's engagement. It wants the child to stay engaged with the app, they don't care if you actually learn anything from it or not.
Many of them also don't have natural stopping points - they just keep throwing more content at you, which is another way to keep you engaged.
Please be careful with tablets and apps. Young kids don't need them.

while a lot of us may agree screen time isn’t needed this isn’t what she’s asking
