We both have a personal account but we also have a joint account. We planned the budget together and agreed on how much went in the joint account for bills then split the rest equally between the personal accounts as spending money.

Personally- I handle all the finances even though he’s the only one working bc he knows that I won’t forget bills, prioritize needs over wants, and build our savings! This is just what works best for us - before I started doing the budgeting and splitting up the money etc., we were living very tightly bc he spends more than he realizes

I don’t have access but he will give me his card and lets me pick out everything I want and gets more for me then I would get for myself. He tells me and consults me for big purchases but I’m trying to take full control of finances. Im just showing him I trust him so he can trust me as well because Im SHMans he’s not sure if he can trust me yet because I’m not very well organized. I just have to prove my expertise in finance and advocate for myself. Another thing is he probably thinks I would cut him off from gambling or be too strict with money because I’m always complaining because I’m so frugal and he spends so much.
