The kids will be around 4 years apart…

Feeling sad that due to fertility my 2 kids will be about 4 years apart. I was hoping they would be closer together- to have more in common. Anyone with a similar age gap? Any positives to the larger age gap?

Ours are. Too young to talk about how close they will be growing up, but I have lots of friends who had siblings with the same age gap and hang out all the time, unlike myself and my brother who are 2 years apart. It isn't about the age gap at all, it's about their unique individualities and how you nurture their relationship growing up.

My sister and I have a 17 year gap. We talk at least once a week. She works 6 days a week with a long commute (leaves at 5 gets home after 6), I don't want to disturb her when she gets home so we just talk on her days off.

I have that gap with my kids 17,16,16,12,11,7,1 and it hasn’t really been good the older ones play with the 12,11 year old but meh they don’t really want to and the the 7 year old well he kinda doesn’t get along with any of them the 12,11 year old do well as do the older kids all the kids like the baby it’s a big age gap so that could be why but ya this is my experience and not yours so don’t base it on that I have a lot of kids if your only having the 2 then it could be sooooo different never base your family on how other are because every family is different (this is just my family and I’m sure others will be way different) 😊

My eldest is 7 and middle child is 3, honestly they have good days they have bad days! But for me as a parent I absolutely love the gap! Much easier than the 3 and 3 months gap 😩

My boys are 4 years apart (just 6 days between their birthdays!), I did want 3 years but it just didnt happen that way and actually it works well for us.
Financially its meant only 1 at nursery, a big help not having both to pay for! Also, with the older one being quite independent ive been able to give the baby the attention he needs.
My kids adore each other, big brother loves helping and making his baby brother laugh, they're very cute together.
There's pros and cons to any age gap and in the end life sometimes has its own idea. Im sure your eldest will love having a sibling regardless. Congratulations to you 😊

Yes ! Mine are 8,12,20 and due Aug 3!

Mine are a little over 3 years apart but I have brothers 3 years younger than me and 8 years younger than me. How close they will be really isn’t dependent on the age gap. There are pros and cons to any age gap!

Don't overthink it! Siblings gain experience needed for life regardless of the age gap:) We are still wanting a third and due to infertility, the age gap will be bigger than we ever wanted. A third will mean our kids are 7 & 5 with a baby sibling

My kids are almost 4 years apart and is actually been a blessing!! I was sad about it at first too, but it ended up being so much easier. Now that my daughters almost 3 and my son is almost 7, they actually play together too. It’s been great!

4 years is not that big of an age gap. Honestly, if you have a close family that is what will foster a close relationship rather than the ages.
I have a 4 year age gap with my brother, he is older. We had a great relationship growing up. We were close and would go to football matches together when we were teens.

My boys are 4 years apart. Honestly I loved it when they were babies because it was much easier. My oldest was potty trained and could do a lot more for himself. So my kids ages are 10,7,3,1 and a baby on the way so my two youngest will be 14 months apart only. I’m nervous for that!

I have a 5 month old daughter and prior to her my youngest was 16 (just turned 17)
My older 2 daughters ( 17 and 20 ) are the best babysitters and helping hands

There’s 4 years between our oldest and our youngest. Oldest turned 4 in December and I just had our youngest 02/23. With a middle child in there who’s almost 2.5.
