Haunting Adeline/Hunting Adeline

I have so much to say about this series! I can definitely tell it was written by an edgy millennial. I kind of wish it was just the first book. I like certain moments in the books and other parts I'm cringing! What's everyone else think about it?

Oh my god everyone hypes this book up so much but I CAAAAANT. It just feels like something that shouldn't have left wattpad to me. If I wasnt a completionist, I wouldnt have finished the first book. But I cant get myself to buy the second. 😅 Im just going to gift it to a friend who really wants to read it.

Ohhh I’ll chat about it!!

Also kinda weird how lots of what she talks about is also things that are talked about a lot in the Epstein files

One of the few I haven’t finished 😬 I’ve tried to start it a couple times and I just can’t get into it. I’m more curious about the Grandma story if anything.

I only did the audiobook for the first book. I havent felt compelled to listen to the sequel. I feel like alot of people enjoy it because its their first really dark romance.
Just like how Colleen hoover is alot of readers first adult romance book. But once you branch out you kind of realize how problematic some situations are and notice flaws in the writing.

Honestly I really enjoyed it but I read it before having a child (I also watched a lot of horror and thriller movies before having a child too). I don't know if I could read it again, given everything that's come to light with Epstein and now having a child.

Loved the first book did not like the second book. I liked the plot but there was so much unnecessary stuff in the 2nd book, specifically the smut. Don't get me wrong, I'm fine with some spice but it overpowered the rest of the book IMO. I also read Phantom, the grandma's story, that left a lot to be desired.

I read Satans affair first and then I was like hmm maybe I need to take a break before I read haunting Adeline 😂

I enjoyed haunting Adeline. I don’t really like the sex in it. I never liked spicy books. I actually prefer much darker and a ton more disturbing books. This is very light for me. Yes I know it talks about pedophiles. I mean I never read graphic pedophile books, I don’t know if I can stomach it but this book is nowhere near as disturbing and dark as you weren’t meant to be human and Tender is the flesh. Don’t read those books if you can’t handle the darkness of haunting Adeline. I do much prefer the grandma love story than Adeline’s story. I do feel a connection with Adeline. Not that I am so very desirably attractive but I grow up desiring to live in an isolated world alone where no one bothers me. And isn’t one awesome friend all you need like Adeline’s one and only friend? Except for the stalker, Adeline has the life that I’d always craved. Like Adeline, I don’t really care if my hair is a mess in public and no makeup. I totally identify with Adeline who pigs out on street food

I felt like haunting Adeline was a book about what I want when I was a teenager except for all the stalker sex and the corrupted government. It will be nice to just live off of writing books and pig out with a friend. My relationship with my parents and cousins and aunts and uncles and grandparents sucks too just like Adeline. Oh never mind Adeline loved nana. I feel like Adeline’s big old house is wonderful too.

i read both books and enjoyed them from a smut perspective, but ever since i saw a reddit comment that said it was a qanon fanfic, i couldn’t see it the same way ever again lmao

Definitely agree it should have only been the first book, but I will say, this series is what got me out of a reading slump when I was going through it a few years back. Couldn’t do happy endings for a bit. Even though it all works out, I needed something darker at the time
