Hi all! Have just moved over to formula from breastfeeding. When I’m making my bottles I’m finding due to the steam the formula is sticking to the spoon and I’m having to scoop it out into the bottle at the end. Is this normal? How are others preventing this x

I do powder first then hot water

You can do the scoops of powder first into the bottle but make sure the boiling water is measured separately before you add it in because if you just pour from the kettle on top of the powder you won’t be adding the correct amount (hope that makes sense!)

Definitely do scoops first and then hot shot! Do you have a prep machine? Or doing it by the kettle? X

I use Tommy tippee formula pots which helps with not miscounting when tired, speeds up making bottles, easy to take a few out and about to use with the rapid cool

I would also recommend getting some of them prepped bottles to just keep on hand in case of emergency I don't know where you'd get the nipples from though cuz I haven't used the prepped bottles since she was in the hospital with me.

Make sure you read the formula container.
My formula says lukewarm or room temp water.

We have some formula pots that we scoop out in advance so we have 6 ready to go at all times and then when we make up his bottles we do the water and then just pour a pot into the bottle and make it that way. Also handy for if you need to go out around the time of babys feed, we take a pot with a sterile bottle and then a flask of boiling water and we can usually get a cup of cold water to cool it down wherever we are.

We use a formula pot, it has 3 little compartments but it makes it easier than using the scoop to put the powder in the bottle. We do the fridge method
