Chuck Palahniuk
Does anybody here like him? I read Fight Club and Haunted, and I thought I would pick up Rant, but I'm not sure.
Fight Club was good, Haunted was... weird but still good from what I remember.
I also kinda remember thinking that maybe he just liked the shock factor, but wasn't really as deep as most people felt about it...?
Anyway, thoughts?

Haunted still haunts me and it has been at least 10 years since I read that book. It is so messed up.
I just listened to Snuff on audiobook. That was wild
I really enjoy his books. But he is all about that shock factor, and that's not for everyone. It's satire, which is supposed to make you think but it's not really supposed to be that deep. But sometimes I think that some people think if a book makes you use your brain at all, that's too deep and that's where that "so deep" reputation might come from. His work is funny and gruesome. I actually did like Beautiful You from his newer stuff. I also liked Choke and Damned.
I like rant but it is really gross. Not as gross as Haunted but there is some nasty stuff in there. Loved his books in HS and early college.
Invisible monster and Snugf are my two favorites. Really good reads. I can’t get into his newer stuff, doesn’t have the same edge
