I’m seriously considering between NCT class or recently I’ve discovered Happy Parents Happy Baby Antenatal classes. Anyone know the pros or cons to either? Is anyone else attending either one? X

I haven’t had personal experience, but my sister in law who is a midwife and currently also pregnant with her third, recommended Happy Parents Happy Baby. I think there was more variety in classes and experts available in those classes x

It truly depends on your motivation for the groups I would say.
We did NCT with our first pregnancy, purely motivated by finding a group of friends. Our babies turned 2 in December and for the second year in a row, we had a joint party with 7 other babies. I regularly meet with the mums and the dads also meet up too still!
The content of the sessions, we did the 6 sessions one, can be quite repetitive and very birth focused which I felt I knew about without the sessions. But we got what we wanted out of them x

Sure Start/Better Start offer programmes locally that are near identical to Happy Parents, Happy Baby/NCT! They are approx 8 weeks and cover labour/babycare etc. I even have a friend who is a midwife who delivers the same session for a free programme and one people pay £250+ for… x

I’m a midwife and wouldn’t recommend nct. It’s great for making friends but the information is lacking.
I’d recommend looking for antenatal classes that are run by a midwife
