Unwell early pregnancy
Anyone else become ill with an infection or cold or something when pregnant? I’m 7 weeks tomorrow.
I became really ill yesterday and was vomiting a lot, initially just thought bad morning sickness but have had fever, chills, body aches and cough.
I went to the doctor and they think I have a chest infection on top of morning sickness. They prescribed me some anti sickness tablets and antibiotics. Today I’m feeling rough still but not as bad as yesterday. Still keep getting a fever 😭
Obviously I’m worried about the effect on baby😭 anyone else ever dealt with something similar in pregnancy and baby been ok?
I’m wondering if I’ve just caught a cold and because I’m pregnant it’s just hit me like a ton of bricks as I’m guessing my immune system is down.
Never had any issues like this with my first to be honest 🥺❤️

Not the same kind of illness but I recently had to deal with a really nasty dental abscess - had to go through 2 courses of different antibiotics and a drainage procedure and then tooth out, all just after I found out I was pregnant. I felt really rough with it and was maximising my painkillers and on quite strong doses of antibiotics both via my dentist and the hospital to clear it. Had a scan today and baby is looking perfect for their gestation so hopeful that it won’t have any lasting effect!
When I was pregnant I got really sick twice with a cold. No effect on baby, just sucks that you’re limited on what you take or in the beginning you can’t really take anything just hope it passes, rest a lot and drink a lot of water. Baby will be fine tho 🙂
I’m currently dealing with something atm but I don’t yet know what. I’ve woken up feeling really queasy (I’m 5+1 and been symptomless so far) and I’ve got the chill, all over body aches and quite bad pain in my lower back along with a headache. About to go home from work, just over 4 hours left but I’m not coping well. My throat really hurts to swallow so I’m either leaning towards some sort of cold or a kidney infection (I had to be on antibiotics from 33 weeks til birth with my first pregnancy for reoccurring kidney infections). I’ve just asked my partner to grab a UTI test 😭 really don’t want to go be seen but the second I’m sick I’m such a wuss
I started every pregnancy with an annoying cough. Not a terribly bad one, but one that just lingers for what feels like forever
