I’ve always explained why they should and they just do it 🤷🏼♀️ It’s never been forced.
The question is inspired by friends remembering how our parents generation generally handled it, while raising us

We apologize to them when we mess up. Naturally they apologize too when they mess up.

I say why they should apologize, but in my experience they're not usually sorry 😂

I have a asd son so it’s difficult to get a sorry. We try for a sorry hug or handshake instead.

Explain when the action was and why he should apologise and if he would like to, sometimes not gunna lie he says no 🤷🏼♀️
