No Income maternity leave

I’ve never been a stay at home wife as of yet I do have a job lined up after I give birth to my baby due in October, after maternity of 6 months I will join. But how do I support my partner? In the bills that I used to pay for ?
Bear in mind I’m independent and always have been he can help me but I feel like it’s too much for a single person alone to do it advice or help on what to do?

My midwife suggested to apply for universal credit, my contract ended 3 months before I was due (surprise pregnancy!) so I wasn’t entitled to any maternity leave and my partner is the only income in the house. We could’ve lived off just his money but I feel the same as you I’m independent and need my own money so that UC is helping me through until I start working again soon.
