Preference to dad

Is it normal for our boys to hate us when dad is around? 😭 I’m with our son a lot more than my husband is because I work less, I get 1 or 2 full days with him during the week and it’s usually fine, I play with him a lot. I get frustrated here and there especially if he’s not listening, but on the evenings and weekends when my husband is around all of a sudden our son has started saying rude things to me like ā€œgo away mumma! Not you, just dada!ā€ or I’ll pick up a toy trying to do pretend play with him and he’ll scream no not you!! And throw the toy away.
The first couple times he did it I was like okay obviously he’s just having his dad time that’s okay. But now he does it anytime my husband is home and it makes me sad :(
I am 33 weeks pregnant and it’s hard for me to move but I definitely try! I just can’t crawl on the floor lol. I really hope it’s just a phase??

Hey! My son was just like this, whenever i tried to play or walk into the room while they played my son screamed ā€œno!ā€ I took it personally for a while but my husband would always tell him, that it wasn’t nice and that mom can play too. I think hearing it from dad helps, and it was most definitely a phase, although he still prefers my husband, I’m allowed to play and be around them now haha

I wouldn’t worry it’s completely normal but I would correct rude/mean language and behavior. As you mentioned you get to be with him more so when dad’s around he probably attaches to him as that time is more scarce. My twins switch between preferred parent all the time but we make sure to address those types of things
