I’m 30 weeks pregnant tomorrow but I’ve seen a lot of babies due around my due date or after have been born recently so I’m packing a hospital bag early just in case,
Ive got two long zipper sleep suits with feet and gloves built in, I’ve got three body suits, and 1 vest suit just in case it’s warm (it’s my first baby, I don’t know anything about their temperature!) nappies, muslin, and someone said to bring the nail clippers with us.
I’m trying to pack for me now, ive got leak proof nappies for me, very long pads, and a box of disposable underwear, im yet to get any normal underwear. I’ve got one long comfy nighty, my crocs, a handheld fan, headphones, sunglasses (for the light cause I get very overstimulated easy). Do I need to bring my breast pumps? I’m planning on breastfeeding.
I wanted to buy a perineal witch hazel foam for any swelling or tears or stitches and it’s only £12 but would anyone recommend this? I’m nervous if things go sideways and I have to get an emergency c section that the foam becomes useless and wasted money.
Is there anything else I’ve missed?

I don’t think you’ll need your pump and most hospitals will have a pump you can use whilst you’re there if it does become necessary. I personally didn’t have any of the spritz or witch hazel things and I didn’t have any pain in that area (episiotomy with stitches and felt absolutely fine straight after just a bit numb). There’s always same day delivery and shops open for your partner/family member to grab it for you if you want to wait and see if you’ll need it. I would bring 2 lots of pyjamas because I wore mine at the start of my labour and wanted fresh ones for after she was born x

Is your nightie feeding friendly? I.e. button down or with easy access? I would say pack lots of snacks and bottled water too (our hospital had nowhere to get water except a very expensive vending machine). A robe or something cosy to throw on would be good too.

Plus the essentials: toothbrush, toothpaste, hair brush, etc.! Baby wipes for nappy changes.

Also a long phone charger, most of the plugs are up high😊

It sounds like a good list to me! Are you far from the hospital? Will your partner be able to return for more things for you if you need them? Or maybe you could keep a bag of top ups/extras in the car. That's just my preference as I prefer to pack light, having too much stuff and having to rummage around is stressful I find!
Witch hazel is good but you can just order it for pick up or pop out and buy it if you need it. I had a vaginal birth both times and didn't use it (though I definitely would have with my first if I'd known about it!) Consider a peri bottle too if you have stitches or tears. Again, don't purchase this before just in case you don't need it. I filled an empty lucozade sport bottle with water and used that when I was in hospital 🤣
Please also pack some nice snacks too, if you stay in overnight you might wake up hungry - I did!

Definitely buy the foam, just in case is good enough! It’s a life changer
