Play kitchen - for anyone that already has one…

We got our little girl a play kitchen for her 1st birthday and obviously she’s now 3 and she’s used it a fair amount but no where near as much as what I thought! I don’t know whether she’s growing out of it or whether it’s something she’ll play with more over the next year or two.

Are your little ones loving theirs or do you think they are outgrowing it already?

We're loving it more every day. Bought ours for first birthday too and it was mostly ignored for 12-18 months. Really started playing properly in the summer. Now he's actually doing proper role play with it

We use it all the time. Every now and then we add more things. So we have a pancake set. Salad set. Kettle, tea coffee, toast etc.

My little boy loves everything pretend play xx

I think I need to add a few bits and bobs to it then to keep in interesting and fun as I’ve had the same ole fruit & veg for 2 years and nothing more than that really 🤣

My daughter still plays with hers a lot but she’s only had it just over a year. May we your daughter needs to see it less for a little while then bring it back another time? It might reignite the interest

We keep ours on the upstairs landing rather than the living room so it's always out but not immediately visible all day. We've added coffee cups, pizza, sandwiches, ice cream etc over the time to make it more interesting

Mine still plays with his bit so does his 19m old brother. I added more to it, such a mini market that holds all the different foods, I added a tea and coffee set, electric toy microwave and a shopping trolley. So they can really role play and take it home to cook 😅

Mine has always loved hers, but this is always the kind of thing she gravitates towards. If there’s a pretend play option then that’s what she wants to do wherever we are! It may be that your little one is just less interested in this kind of play!
