Another mom brought her sick toddler to the park & now mine is coughing

I was at the park less than 48 hours ago when another mom who was sneezing and her toddler who was coughing arrived. I tried to keep my distance, but it looks like my toddler got it. Why are we bringing sick kids to playgrounds? I’m upset

I feel you with this. I really really do.
When kids come to indoor play places sick it bothers me to know end. Germs allover the toys, circulating in the air, running into eachother. Its a nightmare soup for spreading sickness. It shouldn't be allowed.

Outdoor space is a little different and hear me out if you might.

When my kids are sick, we stay home as long as possible. But I live in a small space with a 3 year old tornado. Eventually, we have to go somewhere. I try to stick to walks only but eventually she's a lot better but let's say she's still coughing. She need fresh air and outside play to get better, she needs to expell all that built up energy. That's when I take her to the park. If its busy, no. If she's super sick and contagious no.

But I do understand the need to take a child out of the house. Outside is the best option as far as fresh air and touchable surface space.

But it also infuriates me when very sick kids are brought to busy public areas or indoor play places.
I understand you

Coughs can linger for weeks past contagious period and are often worsened by running around but if mom was still symptomatic too they should’ve stayed home.

We have gotten sick pretty much every time we have left the house this sick season! It’s been a rough one. I hope kiddo feels better soon
