Placenta Previa

Yeah, if you scroll down a little bit in July 2026 babies someone else just recently posted the same thing. It’s funny that that person made that post about an hour after my own appointment where I also was told that I have placenta previa.

I got scheduled more ultrasounds to check on it and my doctor told me that in like 90% of cases, the placenta moves up as the uterus grows and it won’t end up being an issue at birth, but occasionally the placenta doesn’t move up and then you have to get a C-section. Since I have complete placenta previa, I am hoping mine move up. I think you are in a pretty good place if it’s not covering and you are still at 20 weeks it will probably move farther away from the cervix.

Huh! Mine is .8 cm away and my doctor said as long as it’s over 1cm away we’re fine for a natural birth, ideally they want it to be at least 2cm away. Placenta previa would mean your placenta was on top of your cervix.. I also don’t want a c-section, but apparently as your uterus grows it pushes the placenta further away.. Interesting it sounds like you got completely different info!

I was told on Friday that I have complete previa also. For me, a c-section was already going to happen, but I understand how scary they can be. I was told they’d recheck me at 28 weeks and 32 weeks depending on if it moves or not. If it doesn’t move, I was told a c-section would be scheduled at 36/37 weeks instead of 39 to reduce the risk of labor and bleeding. Hang in there, mama.

I can’t remember the measurement of mine covering my cervix but i was told it was slightly covering it yesterday! have another scan at 28 weeks (end of april) to check in on it, and if it doesn’t move up then the plan would be to schedule a c section at 37 weeks.
