Nasty cough - advice

My daughter has got a horrendous cough and a very painful throat. The nights are the worst where she’ll be coughing for a good 2 hours and sometimes vomits. She slept in our bed last night but she was still so unsettled as she loves her crib.

Just looking for some recommendations such as easy foods for her to eat, reducing the coughing/easing symptoms etc. we’ve got the Calpol plug in and humidifier on in her room but that’s it. Thank you 🙏

Hey, the vomiting and coughing at night will be from post nasal drip. We have a humidifier but before you put her to bed, saline spray into her nose, we use calpol saline, leave it a few mins, then suck it out. And then put more saline in. The humidifier will help thin out the mucus, but sick is normal as that’s usually the best way for them to get the phlegm up x

Yeah it’s hard work. Elsie doesn’t really like me doing the saline or suck but it is what it is. It’s that thick snot in their nose that triggers their gag reflux. I’ve a fear of sick so that part where she was just throwing up in her sleep had me soo on edge. But thinning it out with the saline, sucking it out and then putting more saline in the help the thick snot thinnen to go down the back of her throat. Everytime she woke up I did saline suck saline. I gave her some calpol on those bad nights too. I also gave her a pillow to just sit her up a little bit. But they’re they’re the worst days x
