I don't have experience but in my opinion there isn't a 'too big' or 'too small' age gap.

I have a 7 year old and a 1 year old and it is the perfect gap because my 7 year old is more independent so I have more time for my 1 year old. She also loves helping out like making her breakfast and helping her learn to walk. I think the gap is fine x

No, I have a 6 year old and a 6month old. No matter what the age gap is it’s going to have its ups and downs.

I hope not. Our daughter is 6 and we would potentially like another child in a couple of years. I feel like the benefits are that the first child had so much of your undivided attention and the second one will too as the sibling will be in school and more independent.

6 years between mine and I think it’s a good balance. I can’t imagine having younger children and having twins 😵💫😂 my daughter is a great help with the boys and really wants to get involved x

Not at all. My kids have a 7 year age gap and they are the best of brothers. There is nothing wrong with an age gap. 💚

I wouldnt say there is an age gap too big. A few people when I was at school got new siblings when we were between 15 and 17 (no other younger siblings). They adored them.

My oldest and youngest are 6yrs apart and it’s great. They’re so sweet together. My sister is 5.5yrs older than me we talk everyday

My brother abd I are 6 years apart and super close now as adults

Not at all! We have a three year gap and it's lovely but I can totally see benefits to having a bigger gap. It's not really something that matters - have kids when you want to and are able to have them. Them being close or further apart in age has very little to do with whether they'll be close as adults which is often a concern people express. It's much more about their individual personalities which you can't predict.

No age gap is too big. Have the kids you want to have. Should you consider how your other kids will be affected, obviously, but any sibling relationship can be special no matter the age difference.
Some siblings are 18 months apart and hate each other, it’s a toss up.

I think it’s the perfect age gap! At least for us. Our oldest is so excited about being a big sister. She loves to take care of her baby dolls so I’m sure she’s going to try to help with baby. And we’ve been working on helping her feel empowered to be independent. She’s potty trained and can communicate her needs and emotions pretty well.

Not at all! We’ve got a 4 year age gap and it’s actually really wonderful to see their bond grow! Our eldest is also super helpful and thoughtful towards his brother

The gap I have with my last born is 4.5 and 5.5 years from his sisters and it’s the best, 10/10 recommend that range because the older ones are out of the super needy diaper phase and can help out and bond really well and my girls even walk around carrying their baby brother they just love on him all the time and are also old enough to understand when I can’t give them my full attention

You wouldn't believe mine even had a gap the way they argue! 6 years between them

I have a 12 year age gap between my two. 5 is nothing

From my experience my oldest is 3 but stepson is 8. I would say it is difficult at times.

There is 9 years between my first & middle 🥴 it’s fine 😂

Not at all! I think people feel way too pressured by age gaps. My youngest just turned 3 and my MIL commented on how she doesn’t think we’ll have another one because of a ‘big’ age gap 😩

My sister and I are 5 years and she’s now my best friend.
