My mom LOVES camping and goes multiple times a year. Last summer, she said “next year let’s all go camping!” So we’re going Memorial Day weekend which I’m realizing is going to come sooner than I think! We are SO excited to go but I’m feeling a little nervous as I’ve never taken a baby camping. My daughter will be 16 months by the time we go. Has anyone taken a babe that little camping? A smaller baby? What were your experiences? Tips? Lifesaving things I cannot leave without? Anything helps!! ♥️

We've taken our daughter camping at around 9 months old. It was perfectly fine! Bring a pack and play, snacks, extra blankets.

Sounds fun! I haven't taken my baby camping but I've gone camping with my parents as a teen and their friends who had babies, It was always fine, id say its best to have a small day tent with an area for them to just play with out of the sun/bugs. Obviously essential oils or other bug repellents are a must. And hand sanitizing wipes (they make ones for babies with no alcohol) is a good one to bring. If you have a portable sound machine that might be worth bringing since sometimes camping noises can be distracting for baby, especially if youre going to a campground or wanna stay up late.

I took my daughter camping at 6 months! She absolutely loved it and slept better than she ever has and was so happy to be outside so much. Definitely overpack diapers, wipes, water, and snacks. I brought a small collapsible basin to wash bottles which could be helpful for sippy cups too. There’s also these little “stickers” you can put on your kid’s clothes and they have peppermint, citronella, and lavender oils in them to repel bugs. We still coslept at the time so she had no problem snuggling up in a pallet with me, but if your little one isn’t a cosleeper, you could make bring a small pack and play or make them their own pallet. Don’t overstress about them getting dirty because it’s honestly not preventable lol. Just keep those baby wipes on hand! Don’t forget swim diapers if there’s a creek or anything nearby for water play

I took my son at 18 mos, he had a ball
