Wow just went to an OB APPOINTMENT and im still 3cm but changed effacement to 80%. Cramping and lower back pain at its finest

Have you been doing cervical checks at your last weekly appointments? I’m considering it, but I’ve heard they can hurt, cause spotting and aren’t necessary, and can’t really determine when labor will start. My next appointment with my OB is on Wednesday morning and I’m debating on getting one because I’m getting impatient lol. I’m 38 weeks today
