Baby doesnt want in high chair

He arches his back when I try to put him in and cries hard. I tried toys and I know he is hungry. It started when I began to buckle him in. Now he wont get on the chair at all and I have to feed him on the floor... its chaos. What would you do?

I would put him in the chair even when he’s crying and whist he’s crying offer him food or a snack something to distract him if he’s hungry he should stop crying and take the food and just reassure him as you do it

It did tickles then folded my son like a taco. I still do this with the car seat only it's more of a play thing now that he's much older

I think that it is important not to push more to prevent further negative associations!
Maybe do a picnic on the floor, get his own little chair and table, let him sit on your lab, get a learning tower (we love it)

My son did this and I made it into a game. I wanted to change his reaction to the highchair. He used to cry just at the sight of it and now he may not always love it but he’s not straight up refusing it. First of all I point at the highchair and label it before I put him in, so I’ll point and say, “highchair.” And then I’ll let him stand up in it for a minute. My son likes to be rebellious so when he thinks he’s getting away with something that alone makes him happy. He will start smiling and stomping and I’ll start matching is energy and playing with him. When I do make him sit, he doesn’t always love it but it’s easy to avert his attention and his complaints are way more minimal. All this to say, I suggest trying to play with him in the highchair so he doesn’t associate it with only bad experiences and restriction.

I can't thank you enough. We all do this now and it works every time!
