I feel like I have nothing of my own and I don’t mean because I’m a mom. My husband, his mom and I all live together. His mom doesn’t know boundaries and I honestly don’t know how to navigate this situation. She wears my shoes without asking, she has came into my room and taken pillows she thinks is hers along with socks she thinks are hers. She washes my stuff without telling me and I’m currently going through a possible diagnosis of OCD so I know that doesn’t help the situation. I just like to sort out my clothes and things before I wash them. The past week has been hell and yesterday she decides to use the washcloth that I use for my baby bottles on a flood that the sink was having. She’s in my bathroom moving stuff and cleaning it to how she likes it. Currently she does pay majority of the bills because there was an agreement prior to all of us moving in together that she decided not to keep her end of that agreement and so now me and my husband are struggling with certain things my baby has everything he needs he’s fine but she is so selfish but acts like she’s the most selfless person on this planet. I can’t stand it anymore. There was so much she promised and said that now she swears she never said. I just want my area, my space, my stuff. Is it that hard to respect someone’s privacy. I’ve never had a lot in my life and I was raised not to touch things that aren’t mine so I never use anything that is hers.

My question is, why is your husband not telling her to respect your boundaries?!

I’ve been in the situation of having to share space with mil/ in-laws. Waity on husband to tell certain things usually gets murky bc it’s not translated how you need or others don’t respect it bc it’s not from you… Either way, you have to say your peace/piece to people for them to comprehend thoroughly and respect your boundaries or they’ll just treat you like a kid that can’t speak for themselves.

I think sometimes u have to mirror someones behavior so they can learn. Maybe do a few little things she does to her….🤦♀️🤣😌☺️. Sometimes thats the only way a person learns what its like

get a lock for your room like a key lock and for your bathroom teach her what personal space is.
