BIG emotions

I feel we had great “terrible twos” and it’s hitting soooo hard now. He drops a toy and it’s a huge meltdown. He doesn’t want to eat anything he used to. He fights bedtime everyday it’s like woooooo what’s going on ? Any tips pls most days I can handle but the days I’m depleted after being sick I can’t take it !

My mom calls them the "tremendous three's". Three can be harder than two, and I'm right there with you. ❤️ I work on helping him use his words to express his feelings and needs. And giving him whatever special co-regulation that I can. I saw something the other day that said 3.5 is especially different since their bodies are putting all its energy into preparing for a growth spurt at 4...there's only so much development energy to go around, so moods suffer.

O, I make it sound like I've got it handled, but last night I had to sit on the floor, holding my 1 and 3.5 year old while they cried after I lost it... because my 3.5 year old wouldn't accept "no I can't carry you" as an answer. #killingitoverhere 😮‍💨🫣
