So I live in greater Manchester UK & I’ve always wanted to move to Cornwall since i was young. I would be up rooting the kids & my parter, he happy to go & I know it won’t be like a holiday but I just want the kids to live that Cornish life. We wouldn’t have any support down there, but tbh I don’t really depend on our families anyway… is it too impulsive??

I grew up in Plymouth, moved to herts/London for 10 years and then moved to Cornwall almost a year ago. I do have my mum nearby and cheaper cost of living was a big incentive too. However my husband was working fully remote so didn't need to change his job and I work in the NHS so my salary stayed largely the same (minus London weighting). If you're looking for jobs down here you need to consider a lot of the work will be seasonal and likely lower salary. The summers are beautiful but it does rain a lot in the winter and it can be limited for things to do with young children out of season. All of that being said, I have zero regrets about moving. It is a different way of life, there's a lovely sense of community if you're willing to put yourself out there and get involved x

I live in Cornwall and yes it is beautiful and great to take baby boy outside whenever we can.
HOWEVER it is expensive and jobs are non existent if you dont want to work in hospitality and tourism. If you work remote or excell in the hospitality industry then you might love it!
But can you live without decent shopping? Lots of facilities? Lots of kids activities when its raining? Driving long distances to get to basically anything?
We keep debating whether to move out of Cornwall because its so far away from everything with so little opportunity.
Can its beauty really fulfill all your family needs?

Yes we do most things through deliveries tbh. We dont really have big retail parks, Truro is the only city but most don't really class it as a city! Then we only have one hospital which can be difficult with kiddies.
Plymouth does have a lot more going on and has good transport links with Cornwall only over a bridge!
Went to uni there and its not the prettiest city but I love it. Right on the water, lots to do, great shopping and not far from great beaches and the moors.
