Does anyone else have their child in speech therapy?
My 3 year old still very much struggles with speech and has been going to speech therapy since January. He will start a word and doesn’t finished it. For example, “school” is pronounced “schoo” and he mumbles between words too.
My MIL is stressed about it and asking if he has a diagnosis, and also trying to diagnose him herself and now I’m upset. 😩
I don’t know if he needs a diagnosis and I’m not necessarily looking for one because I feel like this therapy is helping him as he has been talking more since he started.
If you’re in a similar situation, what do you do in addition to therapy? Should I be more concerned?
TIA!

My oldest daughter barely talked at age 3, things changed when she went to daycare and after that she started to talk much more. At time I was concerned with “sign” and “maybe this or maybe that”
Turns out she did not have any problems at all just needed some time
I know everyone is different
Now she is 7 and has 0 issues
But while living through it is hard, my best advice is follow your gut and your heart.

Yes, my son has been diagnosed with a speech delay since 2. He’s starting to talk way more and articulate some words but not fully. Keep doing speech he’ll get there, all kids learned at different paces. If your state offers early preschool I highly recommend it kids learned so much faster for other kids. Just food for thought you’re doing everything right!!!!! Don’t listen if his doctors aren’t worried then nobody’s opinion matters 🫶🏽🫶🏽

i have a 3 year old who is a “late talker too” she communicates kinda but not as much as i feel she should be i don’t have advice as i haven’t even gotten her into a speech therapist i’ve just been verbalizing every thing and thats seemed to help but i just wanted to let you know you aren’t alone. i honestly wasn’t too worried about until my sister was like she’s behind

My son has been in speech for a few months now. It has helped.

I did at 18 months. He graduated before he turned 3 yrs old
