I had an IUD. It wasn’t that painful, a little uncomfortable you will feel some cramping and light bleeding and then you won’t even feel it.

I got the Copper IUD (non-hormonal) in November 2024. It’s been working great for me! It was a little uncomfortable getting it, but not nearly as bad as I’d expected. And I have a super low pain tolerance so that’s saying something. I def recommend the non-hormonal one.

I had an IUD, the insertion is painful but very quick. It felt like a bad period afterwards for the rest of the day and I was fine after.

I also have the copper IUD. It was painful at all. I guess the ob that placed it was experienced. It’s been working well for me as well. I fined that the periods last longer though at first they seem to be getting shorter. I’m coming up on a year in July. I would recommend it.

I got an IUD 6 weeks after my second. My kids are 13 month apart.. wasn’t going to play with fire again.
No pain, super easy and quick. I asked a lot of questions before picking which IUD I decided on.
No need to be afraid of insertion.
You all are so amazing, I feel better about it. I was terrified about the insertion but this is very uplifting

It’s not super bad. Take ibuprofen an hour before your appointment. I had mine back in 2018 and it just felt like I had bad period cramps. Now I’m getting one in next week and getting off this depo shot. My husband is gonna take the day off to watch the kids and I’m gonna relax and treat myself lol 💕

Mine was painful as my cervix clamped shut and they had to use something to open it, however, I had forgotten to take pain meds beforehand. I would take 2 ibuprofen and 2 paracetamol 30min before and you should be fine. I would add, that even though having it in was painful for me, I would do it again as it was the best contraceptive I have had.

I had the copper IUD before baby was born now I don't use anything yet. Haven't decided. I don't like hormones. What I will say about the copper IUD is that my periods were longer. Like sometimes 9 days long, heavier bleeding, cramping painful. Now without it my periods have been as short as 3 to 5 days in length! And my back hurts before my period gets here. That feels baby related. Just a little why I haven't decided if I will go back on birth control yet or at all. I might just look into teas.
