So i got told when baby was 4 months old (she’s now 6months) that she would be referred to a dietician ready for weaning. We’ve not heard anything but we decided to start weaning her sooner than 6 months because she was really interested in food. Anyway we’ve been sticking to dairy free atuff but still unsure if we can add oat or soya milk into her diet.
I got intouch with the doctor to see if they knew about the dietician appointment and got told to ask the health visitor, the health visitor has now told me that she doesn’t know about the appointments and I need to get in touch with the department directly. I’m assuming it’s in the hospital I gave birth at?
Has anyone else had the same issue with being referred to a dietician? Baby was born in the RVI.

Hey. My boys have CMPA and I made an appointment with their GP when they turned 6 months to discuss weaning and a dietician. I was told dietician wasn't necessary until they're fully weaned 🫣 I slowly introduced them to oat milk while weaning though and they have soya yogurts now. Ella's Kitchen have lots of dairy free options and Lidl do dairy free porridges too.
GP did say to follow the milk ladder when eventually introducing cows milk. I have done some research and have started the milk ladder (they're now 11 months, 10 corrected), if I have no issues, I'll continue on my own but if there's any adverse reaction, I'll be pushing for dietician appointment. My boys were also born at the RVI but it's my understanding that if you're based in North Tyneside, you'll see a dietician at Rake Lane.
