I'm fortunate to currently be a stay at home mum, I was going back into work when my 3 year old turned 4 and started primary school reception but I'm 20 weeks pregnant so that is hold once again for now.
It's made me wonder how working mums are getting to any of these appointments that get booked in on random weekday afternoons?!
I've been under a pre-term consultant until being discharged last week, also have gestational diabetes so under consultant care with this, as well as having normal scans and midwife appointments. All of these I can be sat in the hospital waiting room around 2-3 hours to be called in and seen. How is it even manageable to have this much time off and away from work to attend all of this? I'm averaging 2 appointments per week currently upto half a day spent at the hospital each time it just seems impossible to fit in around a normal job.
Today for example I have to travel to the hospital for a 2pm appointment and after waiting and travelling home I'll not be back until around 4pm and then tomorrow I have an 11:40am diabetic appointment and then a scan at 2pm so I'll be stuck in that waiting room for a good 3 hours

Work just have to deal with it! It is legal requirement to let pregnant women go to appointments.
On top of all my maternity apps I’m also having phototherapy twice a week. At this point I’m tempted just to move in to the hospital, will save myself a fortune in parking lol

Like Steph said - they just have to work around it. That said, I do keep an eye on emails on my phone as I’m sat around waiting at the appointment so I’m not totally out of the loop. I’ve just booked all my appointments into the work diary so people know I’m not AWOL!
