I’m getting my daughter’s name tattooed on my forearm tomorrow, it’s only small.
I thought today whether it would affect my breastmilk and Google has very mixed messages. She’s 3 months old

It doesn’t affect breastmilk. The only risk is infection but if you go somewhere reputable and have proper aftercare then you should be fine. I’ve had 6 tattoos when breastfeeding with 0 issues

In the UK they won't do it. I asked last year and the studio stated that they refuse to tattoo anyone breastfeeding and they also stated that the baby would need to be weaned for 3 months before they even tattoo after breastfeeding

I had a tattoo done in the UK whilst breastfeeding BUT my LO was 14mo and only feeding for comfort/night feeds no longer for sustenance so if I did develop an infection could have gone without for a few days

I got a tattoo whilst breastfeeding, I was never asked so never said.

Following because I’m itching for some new ink

Echoing what others have said but no decent place will tattoo you knowing that you are breastfeeding. They should also have you sign a disclaimer that will have a section confirming you are NOT pregnant or breastfeeding.
If something were to unfortunately happen to you or your child as a result of getting tattooed whilst breastfeeding, you would have no legal power to take anything further.

The wait is worth keeping you and your baby safe
This post was just to get peoples opinions. Not for people for judge or be rude. But thank you for your opinions

They won’t tattoo ppl who breastfeed where I go for tattoos it was on my consent paperwork and he asked to double check bc I got a tattoo a month or so after I had my baby but I’m a formula mom so I was all good .

I just wouldn't risk the infection or the stress on your body.
