Hi everyone,
I wanted to ask how other mums are coping with all the meningitis concerns going around. I have a 3-month-old baby, and honestly, I feel really overwhelmed and scared to even go out with him at the moment.
I also feel like people don’t respect my boundaries. Friends and family sometimes kiss my baby without asking, and it makes me really uncomfortable. I’m not a hypochondriac, but having a newborn in winter is making me feel quite anxious and protective.
My husband doesn’t seem to share the same level of concern, and sometimes I feel like I’m being dismissed or not taken seriously.
Am I being unreasonable for not wanting people to kiss my baby and for expecting them to wash their hands before holding him?
I’d really appreciate hearing how you all handle this ❤️

Your are not unreasonable! they are the unreasonable ones if they think kissing a baby is normal.. I clearly stated no kissing and wash your hands before touching my baby for much longer than the newborn phase, and people did it even if they complained and looked at me like if I was exaggerating.. I didn’t care, I rather keep my baby safe than worry about disappointing others that don’t understand the risks and they simply put their needs before my baby’s! My husband also didn’t share the same level of concerns but backed me up with it.. and I appreciated it. I think since I became a mother my ‘people pleaser’ side completely disappeared 😅
don’t worry too much, you are doing your best to protect your child❤️
