I’m having shared care between midwife’s and obstetrician.
My previous pregnancy I had extra growth scans as baby was measuring big and I had pre-eclampsia during labour and a full dilated emergency C-section.
This time round I’m having obstetrician appointments, midwives appointments, cervical length scan every two weeks from 16-22/24, and extra growth scans again .
I’m just finding it all a lot to process can anyone let me know there experiences and if they went on to have a happy pregnancy despite it

This is my 1st and I am also having shared antenatal. I didn't understand what it meant?!

This is my first and I’m under consultant alongside midwife, my midwife told me it’s because I’m classed as a high risk pregnancy. Just to ensure you’re properly looked after and they don’t miss anything on there checks I believe. I’ve been told I’ll have extra growth scans due to being led to believe my baby will be on the smaller side.

I'm having shared midwife and consultant appointments. Mine is due to having Inflammatory Bowel Disease but the consultants and midwives have been great so far, none of them have classed me as 'high risk' and just said they want to monitor more to check baby is growing ok and that I continue to feel well. The consultant was very clear that as long as my symptoms remain in remission for the rest of the pregnancy she does not feel she needs to be anywhere near my birth. Midwives are also very good at assuring that they are just monitoring a bit extra for anomalies but no one has pushing for anything like inductions, c sections etc. Also I'm glad they are acknowledging my health and it's nice to hear baby and see them in scans for added reassurance
