Has anyone had another natural birth after having an episiotomy with your first and can give any advice… did you have any tears or need to have an episiotomy again. What was recovery like the second time

Had episiotomy and 1 stitch with my first because he got stuck. Just had my 2nd and it went to quick, no tears or stitches. Recovered quicker this time

Had an episiotomy first time but second baby came out all by herself VERY quickly. Had a 2nd degree tear but recovery was faaaar better

Yes I had my second with no tears or cuts. I was so worried about having to be cut again but it was completely fine

Had episiotomy with first born as she was back to back and had to be delivered with forceps. Second birth she came out easy but I did have a 2nd degree tear including the reopening of some scar tissue from before. It was a complicated job to stitch (took two midwives and a doctor an hour to do!) the word frayed was used so that wasn’t ideal! But the recovery was definitely not as bad as the first time. I was also much less swollen than the first time (3 hours of pushing 😭) which helped too I think.
Thank you everyone 😊 I had quite a traumatic birth first time round and second baby is due in 4 weeks. Petrified that it’s going to go terribly wrong again, your comments have made me feel better x

I absolutely felt the same going into my second birth but they couldn't have been more different. You've got this 💪

I had episiotomy with my first and my second came quickly but had 2nd degree tear. Had a positive experience for both. Fingers crossed for you x
Me again! Did anyone have any sensitivity when massaging perineum while preparing for second birth
