Meltdowns at 4 years old?

I feel like I’m losing my mind. My child is having toddler like/ worse meltdowns in the evening. I don’t know if it’s from exhaustion or emotions. But she erupts from 5pm. (Witching hour??)
I’m at a loss. She’s mostly screen free/ limited and only watches slow shows or films.
Is active in the day and we are firm with boundaries. Follow a good routine in the morning and afternoon.

She’s become clingy and shouts/screams and takes 30-40 minutes to calm down.
Really struggling to communicate to her. I know she’s clearly going through something but wow it’s hard!!

Is this normal??? Anyone else had this at 4?????

I feel like she’s changed the last few weeks into this crazy little person. 😭😭😭😭

Yep, been there. We worried about what she might be like I'm school, but the teacher said she was good as gold. She said its quite common that children spend so much mental effort behaving properly in school that then they get home to their safe space/people and it all comes out. Perfectly normal apparently. We are definitely better now than we were 4mths ago, but it still comes and goes, especially if she's had a really busy day xx
