How would this work if bd is already in police custody for dumb reasons he put his self in but court is coming up for child custody cause I wanna charge my child last name but he agreed to it that I can but he’s in jail and may not be coming out any time soon

What does the BD have to do to give approval for a name change where you live? Does he need to sign paperwork or does he have to show for court? If you don’t know I would google it. Depending on how long BD is locked up the judge can just give a different court date if BD needs to be there.
